The Knowledge Network on Climate Assemblies (KNOCA) aims to improve the commissioning, design, implementation and impact of climate assemblies, using evidence, knowledge exchange and dialogue. We are an active community of policy makers, practitioners, activists, researchers and other actors with experience and interest in climate assemblies who co-create activities and knowledge.
New Deliberative Facilitation Training Programme
FIDE-Europe and We Do Democracy have launched a new Deliberative Facilitation Training programme that will run through September. The programme which combines on-line and in-person sessions will enable practitioners to take full responsibility for the design, execution, and integrity of a complete deliberative process.
The aim is that participants will:
· Be equipped to design a citizens’ assembly from start to finish (from remit to run-sheet).
· Understand how to curate balanced information and design a learning journey for diverse assembly members.
· Have advanced, practiced skills in mediation, managing dysfunctions, and large-scale dialogue.
· Receive targeted feedback from an international trainer team, including Yves Dejaeghere (FIDE), Zakia Elvang (We Do Democracy), and Jacob Birkenhäger.
· Be part of an international community of practice for deliberative facilitators
The curriculum draws on FIDE’s Competence Model for Lead Deliberative Facilitators
